That buck that will likely disappear but you hope slips up during the rut

Pretty much every lease has one- that buck you see hitting the protein regularly at 2:00 am then vanishes by November 1st. Here’s our one for this year

I’ve got no pics (from this year) to add….but if that ladder is to the feeder, that would hurt to fill. I’d sell, Saul, sale, sail that feeder to buy a stand and fill. Lol

        Carry on bump

          Great buck, hope you get’em.
I keep sitting in my back yard ( 11 acres) seeing a really great 8. He is on the 400 acres behind me. No one is allowed hunt it so he has no pressure. He won’t jump that fence. Really hope he chances it youth weekend when my son is in the stand

This guy was nocturnal except for only 2 or 3 days the first or second week of November. Then back to only nights.

I don't typically have bucks until late October/November. I used to get discouraged about it, now I've just learned that is how it is going to be. Better that way than to have them all summer and have them disappear come season. I've been on that end of it too.

I have a couple stands along trails in the thicker stuff away from the feeders. I will spend a lot of time sitting there twiddling my thumbs hoping he happens by

This deer is always on camera early but have not seen him in person in two years. The last three years he has went MIA about the second week of November and then shows back up after Christmas with broken tines. He is 7.5 this year and my #1 target. We don’t shoot deer with broke tines so I am hoping I can close the deal early!

dang good deer right there...just curious on why you dont shoot deer with broken tines? lease rule? thoughts behind it?

i like them busted up a little and taxi's can fix it these days if you want...

i would hate to pass that dude at 7.5 because of a couple missing tines
