The biggest difference between Herman and Jimbo after year 3 is one was trending downward and the other was trending up. Jimbo just went 9-1 against an all SEC schedule, won a NY6 bowl, and had blue chip recruits lined up at the front door.

Herman was Alamo Bowl bound and had shown some character traits that led people to believe he couldn’t handle everything that comes with the job.

I had it wrong. It was Sumlin who had the same record. Jimbo's record and Herman's record are very similar though. It would probably be identical if Texas played FCS schools every year.

True. People fail to realize Jimbo played the #1 team in the country like 5 **** times in 3 years.

FYI.....covid saved alot of jobs but it cost Herman his.

The games they didn't play they would have won. Kansas, Rice and LSU. It would have been a 10 win season and he would not have been fired.

Try throwing in a #1 ranked Alabama, #1 ranked LSU, #1 ranked Clemson and Top 10 opponents like Florida, GA (when it matters), Auburn, Ole Miss…..etc.
