Only pics you’ve had of them?
I really don't think his ear is missing. I think it is just the angle of the ear when the picture took...I don't recall a missing ear in any of the other pictures. One did have a gash in the ear, though.

There were probably 12-15 pics of them. I only saved the 3 best ones. Likely i'll have more the next time I go to the lease. Will update if I get more.

If you don’t see em again I’m in the “you got punked” crowd lol.

But. I’m real curious how this stuff happens. I guess I should be happy with my baby hill country small racked bucks. Better than no horns!

It happens in Llano. All of the bucks with velvet horns were stags. We had them with a glob to full eight point racks. I shot 3 or 4 of them. My largest was a 12 pointer.

I have seen this on my place. One 7 yr old last year had nubs and all yrs before had a 10 pt frame. This year he grew a normal rack. I believe it is a testosterone imbalance.

I've seen this once it was a very old buck on the decline. Was a 10 pt then a nub then a smaller 9 pt. Was probably ages 9-11 for him. He was culled out that year.

One of the bucks has a huge split ear, maybe you can go back to last years pics and see if you can indentify him
