If you gut shot him and that's all you got it's going to take about 12 hours for him to die. If you got out of there super quiet and didn't alert him he will be stone dead in his first bed tomorrow morning. Don't chance it! He's dead, be patient and he will be there waiting for you. Even if you bumped him on accident he may get up and run to a new bed. This is a super easy track for a dog, gut shot deer are the easiest for a dog to find if you do it right. If you go too early and start chasing him he will go to the next county. Pick up this track tomorrow morning at first light.

He has a crazy redneck with some even crazier dogs on the way in the morning, expect some pics in the am. These dogs aren't afraid to bay a deer, or hold it down until you show up.
