I was in the same boat as you. My half ton started having issues and I fixed them and fixed them. It became a money pit. I sold it. My one ton was a 99superduty with the 7.3. I sold it at 254,000 + miles, this year. I was about to start dropping major cash on rebuilding it. I thought it was good until I drove my sons 17 3/4 ton with the 6.7 diesel. My god the difference was amazing. The 17 is a beast. The interior has everything you want and more. It pulls my 35th 5th wheel and doesn’t struggle. Momma likes it. It was hard for me to let go but man I’m happy, happy, happy. Yes I have a note, but I’m not fretting about it.
