So, how does a sideways feeder work?

Years ago, I had some of those hanging feeders, I had one in a huge elm tree. One day I walked out the front door and heard creaking wire, like barbed wire creaking. Thought someone was sneaking through the fence. I checked the fence, then realized the noise was coming from the elm tree. Turns out there was a huge coon standing on a limb reaching way out and grabbed the feeder and was rocking it back and forth. Making himself a pile of corn on the ground. This was going on about 3:30 one afternoon. I guess the coon figured out I was gone all day and could show up at the house and empty my feeder out. He did not realize, I did not work all day everyday, that was a Saturday.

Looks like you have no top on your feeder and one fat corn fed coon.

Put a good lid on. I use one with no issues.

I like your setup in a tree like that. What did you use to pull it up with, winch?

              Bungee cord the lid down.

I have two up now with no issues and this is the second season. I have two because I didn't want to set up a bigger one and the smaller ones go empty too quickly if there is just one feeding 2x per day. So one is the AM feeder and the other is the PM feeder.
