    Spin Cast feeder issue

I know some of you are going to say it is the brand but if anyone has some helpful information, that is what I am looking for.

Went out the other day and feeder did not appear to be feeding. Hit the test button and it spun corn but looked like display was indicating low battery.

So I grabbed a battery yesterday and headed to swap out.

As soon as I touched hot lead to battery I got a face full of corn (ground already hooked up). So I hit the reset button and tried again (ducked head this time ) and same results.

I have some other timers but the dilemma is I have 1/2 feeder full of corn and need to get on back of bolts to get feeder mechanism off.

So if anyone has a solution to get this feeder working until it is closer to empty let me know.

Other wise I see me finding an empty barrel to drain corn into or going out and spinning out some corn daily until I get the thing close to empty

Apin cast tech support is actually pretty good pr at least it used to be. It sounds like the control board which you can replace without removing the unit from the feeder. Do you know the model? I have an extra I can send to you if it is the same model. Send pic of the front panel if you can

The small black reset on back of panel didn’t fix?

I’ve had them after a storm spin an entire barrel

I replaced one with “the timer”. I cut the computer board out and just wired it in. They are bare none the most problematic feeders I’ve ever owned. I HATE THEM. …. But, hope ya figure it out. Lol

After you tested it, did you make sure that the digital read out was reading off. It has been a while, but there is an on/off reading on the digital screen. If it was you did not reset it to off, it would not work.

There is the black reset button on the back and there is also a red plug on the back that will reset everything as well. I have had to unplug that red plug and let it all drain down for a few moments, then plug it back in. Remember, you will get a face full of corn when you plug it back in.

That is what I use to do to reset them, but I replaced all of mine about 6 years ago.

Well I went back out there to see what I could figure out.

There was no coin battery in it as I had taken it out. I held the reset button down for at least 20 seconds and tried again, it spun some corn out. I unplugged the harness that goes from panel to motor and also where battery feeds into control board.
I hooked it all back up and hooked the battery up and planned to let a few pounds out. It stopped after about 2 sec. I hit the reset and it spun corn a couple of seconds.
Reprogrammed it and tested it twice and it spun corn out.
I put it all back together and will see what it does. Set it to feed at 0715 and 1800 so should be able to hear it go off from other stand

Pig squealed within 100 yds after I spun it a few times, they may already be eating corn

Thanks for the advise, will update if it is not working
