Yes it is easy to check. Look under truck, straight pipe instead of the giant DPF canister. Inside the truck, likely a tuner mounted to the windshield or dash somewhere.
I wouldn't be shocked if he had a giant "HD" sticker in the back window too.

New diesels are severely constrained by the DPF. If DPF wasn't required, I am positive we would have factory diesels with 2000+ ft-lbs and 700+ hp.

Diesel delete / coal rolling question

That’s the sole purpose of a DPF. Removing “particulates,” AKA Black Soot, from the air. Yes, some deleted trucks can still burn fairly clean depending on the tune. I was simply saying that the DPF does affect the amount of black smoke.
My deleted F-250 is pretty dang clean, but try rolling coal on a newer truck with the dpf still intact, tune or no tune. It definitely affects your “rolling coal” abilities. LolLast edited by Raider4044; 09-28-2021, 09:01 AM.

My current truck is deleted and will not roll coal. I can make it throw some black smoke if I really get in it.
But then again, Im 39, not 18. I prefer performance along with better fuel economy so mine rarely let's any black smoke go. I run a Smarty Jr on mine now.
On my ordered truck, I may delete it eventually. We'll see what happens with the EPA in the future but I will likely run EFI on it if I delete it. I will leave it factory until the warranty goes out.
Prayers for the families.
