    Fletching question for a beginner

I have a few carbon arrows that need to be reflected. I want to pick up the right equipment and feathers, (I am new to this.) I noticed on some Jigs and feathers say Right or Left. I’m somewhat confused on this. Does this refer to the spin of the arrow? Because my feathers are placed straight and I want to keep them this way.

Also what glue would you recommend for fletching feathers?

right or left refers to what way you want to influence spin, I shoot right helvical, makes the arrows spin more and I recommend Boehning Glue!

I fletch all my blazers straight and feathers with a right helical. Boehning glue or goat tuff. Also invest in a good fletching gig..... I love my bitzenburg!

I reccomend getting a bitzenburger fletcher .. comes as a single unit or you can the the larger one ... Arizona archery glue.. and the twist on your fletching can actually depend on your rest ..

I shoot Blazers with a slight right helical. For the glue I would recommend Goat Tuff. I have used it for several years and have not ever had any problems.

The terms right and left originally referred to which wing from the turkey the feathers came from, which determined which way they were twisted. Right helical has the advantage that as the arrow spins (clockwise viewed from the nock, rear-end), it's 'tightening' itself on the point or broadhead in flight, and not loosening it.

I have an inexpensive BPE jig (I never hear of it either) which the local archery shop had on sale, and it works just fine. Blazers, full right helical, & Bohning Platinum glue. Don't put too much glue on the base of the arrow, just enough to get it wet. Then put a drop on both ends of the 3 fletches where they meet the arrow shaft after each arrow is done and let them dry.
