we have gone to a complete digital over the internet phone system. How do you all fax things with this set up. do you have to use a scanner and save it then fax the document? cant use a regular ol fax machine anymore, correct?

Yes with the digital fax we upload a document to the fax website and then can send it from there. That being said our provider does offer devices that can be connected to our old physical fax machines so that we can still operate our faxes from there if we want to.

What about E-fax service through email? You can still send to fax machine numbers that way.

I'm no IT expert by any means, but I heard that fax is still a secure format for sending documents; which is why it's still used to an extent. That would be opposed to just scanning and sending via regular email. You could also look into Secure email solutions as well where you can send emails through a Secure portal when necessary.

It's not a good idea to scan and send documents that include your NPPI via unsecure email.

Isn’t that converting a fax document to an email?

I bring it up because that’s not allowed as a fax with TRS in Austin.
