    thanks all.
rifle will end up weighing right at 10 lbs. once it's all said and done

Call Glen, or someone in CS at Defiance and inquire about the pic rail that is sold with the Tenacity action. 406-756-2727

if you plan on shooting > 500yds., go with a 20MOA rail, obviously you will need a long action rail

Are you 100% sold on the NF scope ? It's definitely long (15") and heavy (2 lbs).

Do you have a better alternative scope suggestion?

do you want/need an illuminated reticle ?

do you want a reticle with multiple lines to holdover ? or ...

do you plan on using adjustable turrets to dial in "clicks" for known yardage ?

          Mil or MOA adjustments ?

Front Focal Plane or SFP ??

This LEU scope has been disct'd, but they are still out there FS if you look around. I went with the TMOA reticle, and found mine for $775 delivered

          https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N0TJAI8...ding=UTF8&th=1

Not my rifle, but this is what it looks like mounted

another LEU option priced around $800 ~ $900 ; however most places are sold out .... no clue when they are expecting shipments to arrive

          https://www.eurooptic.com/Leupold-VX...escope-18.aspx

again, not my rifle, an www image to represent what this scope looks like in the 3.5-15x44 mm variation - LEU VX5HD

I'll keep my eyes/ears open to see what I can help you find.

            Thx

I don’t really care about lighted reticle, but definitely want turret adjustments. Also want the best glass possible.

Best glass possible and budget are two different things. What is the budget and can run with optics from there?

Id suggest MK5, NX8 or take a look at swaros.

I'd stick with Nightforce But I'm Partial from experience....
Swaro, Zeiss, Leica , Leup.. all make solid choices for that $...
Bump the Budget up to $2.5-3.5k ish.. and you get in a different class of glass....

In that price range, for a more tactical hunting scope, I feel the top choices are:

                        Nightforce NX8
                        Leupold Mark 5
                        Burris XTR III
                        Zeiss Conquest V6
                        Leupold VX6

Best glass possible and NXS dont go together by any means. They’re decent scopes, and I’ve owned a few. These days there are better options for the money. Personally I’d look at the Leupold MK5HD for a little bit lighter option with better glass and solid turrets.
