These are the first views of the bull as I walked up. He is everything thing I wanted in a Shiras moose. I can’t believe I got to hunt one in the US and kill him on 9/11!!!! I thank God for these adventures and my wife for tolerating my insanity!

One of the other great things was that we gutted the bull and then were able to cross the river in the pickup at a gravel bar. We winched that big bigger in to the truck and hauled him to town.

We took the bull to a local processor and they let us use their facility to skin and quarter the bull. I filled out the cut sheet and they will have the meat done, frozen and ready to roll on Friday. We did have to run by game and fish to check in the bull. Then I was able to make it back to the lodge and watch 3 fairly miserable quarters of Aggie football. A perfect day!

that is such a good shiras, great points and matched up well

Did you draw or buy a landowner tag? A shiras is very high on my bucket list and I'm wanting to hunt in Utah, have you come across any outfitters in that area with a landowner tag that you would recommend? Thanks for posting, your trips are always worth following.
