When I see that with my new archers at school, I know immediately they gripped wrong, or that part of the arm couldn't have been hit. I teach them that grip is a whole arm process. When they rotate their knuckles to 45 degrees to set the grip lined up on the lifeline/thumb pad, I teach to do so by rotating the elbow, not the wrist. This sets the grip and the elbow in proper position before ever lifting the bow. The area you have the mark on is now facing down. I don't let my archers wear arm guards to disguise bad form. You might try this approach and see if it works for you.
