Dual fuel Generator Pros and Cons

We only run on generator power and are looking to go bigger at our place, what are the pros and cons of a dual fuel?

    Thanks!

If you can run natural gas that would be my choice. Not much help other than I know guys running NG and zero issues. My gas generator has normal small engine problems at worse times

Can't really think of any "cons"... The genny set up for dual fuel just gives you more options... Natural Gas (methane) is the weakest of the multiple fuels and will give your genny reduced generating power, but it will still run the genny just fine... Butane is better, but not as efficient as gasoline or diesel... All will run cleanly in the genny (well either gasoline or diesel, but not both)...

I bought the Westinghouse 9500. Our plan is to do a natural gas conversion in the near future. When i decided to purchase a new generator my only thought was a dual fuel. I like to have a back up plan, to my plan. The knowledge that i can operate this generator with multiple fuel types just made sense to me.

Because 2 is 1 and 1 is none. I too go by that same rule of thumb.

There are dual fuel NG/Propane gennys out there besides petrol gas/propane. I just picked up a small unit; petrol gas/propane. But plan to make it gas/propane/NG. There is plenty of info for conversions out there. As well as kits.

I recently got a DF Westinghouse 9500. I setup a dedicated breaker, manual interlock, and inlet box at my main panel and added a quick connect where my propane feed comes into the house. I figure I can run around 5 days on a full 250 gal tank, excluding my central air.. If you have NG, you can run indefinitely. I wanted DF for the same reasons others stated - backup…
