    What is this ?

Our exterminator sprayed for the tiny millipedes, because we have millions of them, and a bunch of these big bugs have died too. I had never seen any until they started dying on the driveway and porches.

Walking stick. Male, I believe. I used to let them go in my parent's house growing up. Drove my mother nuts.

Walking stick. They’re cool but they can become an infestation

It doesn’t look like a normal preying mantis to me, but that’s a poor picture.

Google says it's a twostriped walking stick. I didn't realize there were different types of walking sticks.

Be careful with that, they spray poison at you from glands around the neck area. Don’t get it in your eyes

That is a walking stick. I assume a female, but not a expert. I just know that some are much thinner and I think are smaller, which I think are the males. Then some are noticeably larger and much thicker, which I think are the females. When healthy and on a tree or plant, they are very good at blending in. I want to say they can change colors to match the plant or tree they are on.

Kind of odd, you have not seen one before, they are fairly common.

I might have seen them when I was much younger but they didn’t seem that thick. I know we have a bunch of dead ones around here. Thanks guys !
