Well that was an unusual hunt!

Went out this afternoon to try and finish up my limit from this morning- I only needed 7 birds. Three truckloads of us show up at the gate and there are 3-4 vehicles there from the sheriff’s department. Turns out they were chasing an escaped convict and saw him hop the fence onto the property. They had searched the place for a couple hours and hadn’t found him. They said go ahead and hunt just keep an eye out and call if you see him. Didn’t see the convict but I did complete my limit plus 5 collards

In prison the Crook, who was not from Texas, thought on August 31: “I think tomorrow will be a great day to break out. Then I’ll just escape through the woods and run across the fields. Won’t be many folks out and about in this heat on September 1st, so should be kinda quiet …
