On a whim I bought these 8x42 Cabelas brand Intensity bins and was blown away - $190 with a 10% off coupon. It’s hard to tell the difference between these and my 8x42 Leica Trinovid HD bins.

At the same time I ordered the highly acclaimed Vortex Diamondback HD and returned those immediately. Good luck.

We bought a pair of these in 10x42 based on your recommendation and were not disappointed, they're really nice.

I have a set on Nikon Monarch 3’s, 10x42 that have been good glass for me. They are in the price range you are looking at.

Ditto this. I picked up a pair of 12x50 HD for myself and a 10x42 for my brother when Academy had their 20% off sale. I already had other a pairs for years... good stuff for the money for sure. Should have asked a few weeks ago when Academy had that going on!

I second this. My wife and I each have one in 10x50 and they are great.

Check out the Burris Droptine 10x42. Very nice for the money. Same warranty as Vortex.

The bx2s as mentioned above. I Might try those intensity HD as a cheap back up set of glass. I've had the diamond and vipers both in the past. I think vortex I'd very over rated. My steiner hx 10x56 are my favorite set of glass.
