Uncle Ted published Rob's letter to TTHA regarding Ted's wife killing a deer with a 38 lb. bow. He waxed giberish and then denied any responsibility on anyone's part, stating that the law is ridiculous. He said the bow was 40 lbs at the start of the season, and one should not have to check it before each hunt.

Just if you were not already informed, but there is a BIG "no-no" is that issue. (Editor's note: This letter was sent to TTHA and is in reference to the September/October 2006 Journal and Ted Nugent's article "Mrs. Venison Rides Again.") Ted Nugent stated that his wife killed a deer at their Central Texas ranch, and that she used a 38-pound bow. That is illegal. The law states that it must be a 40-pound minimum pull. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Uncle Ted and what he does for us sportsmen and women, but a law is a law and NO ONE should be above it. Look at the top archer web site for Texas: http://discussions.texasbowhunter.com. Does the law need to be changed? Probably so, but where do you draw the line on minimum weight? Something to look at.
