Instead, I’m at the lease getting my bow stands set up, getting shooting lanes cleared and cleaning up some trails.
    Come on October!!!
What is the typical cost for a day of dove hunting? I'm curious.

I have seen crazy prices like $150+ for opening day. I paid around $60 about a decade ago that included a round of golf and lunch. If there are a decent amount of birds, you can get a good price.

Not sure about this year since I haven’t even checked, but 2 or 3 years ago, it was $150 a gun for 15 itty bitty birds. Nope, Nadda, no way!!!
I’m not that mad at them.

Leaving Friday for NE Ark. Forecast sounds lousy but you never know. Got our room booked and bought snacks today. Hoping to take little man this time if he doesn't loose his chit this week with his momma! Gametime decision there!

I think, I'd do better throwing some chicken scratch in the back yard and picking off the town whitewings with a pellet gun......I'm not kidding either.

Sitting on a bucket staring at empty skies has started to get old. Even if it is tradition.

I feel the same way, nevertheless, that’s where we’ll be. I’d object more but this year will likely be the last year we can hunt this field so I’m happy to sit there with the hubby and close out a lifelong tradition with him.

I am ready! Sad that my old girl didn't make it to one more season. Was hoping I would get at least a few hunts with her and the new pup side by side.

But my oldest boy has his first 20g and he is ready to sling a bunch of lead in the general direction of the birds!

I think we'll probably go sit beside some stock tanks at one of my buddies places. Prairie dogs are out there so the grass is real short. It'll make it a lot easier to find them. Most places the grass is so dadgum tall I'd be spending more time lookin for birds than shootin them.

I am excited because I had an old silted in pond on my place that was just a mud hole if it rained. Had it dug out and redone so it has plenty of water in it. There are a few sunflowers growing on one end. Hoping this will divert some birds my way. Last few years they would fly over my place at warp speed only to land across the road at the neighbors pond.
