I had an ekg required by the surgeon for my knee replacement surgery. My internist said I had had a heart attack. I said BS, I'd know if I had had a heart attack. Turned out one of the electrodes was misplaced and gave a false reading. A lot of angst for no reason. Knee was replaced on schedule.

Of course ever since Doc said heart attack, I’ve has small stabbing pains

Small stabbing pains isn’t what I felt. I felt like I was in a vice from back to chest. Left arm felt like an air hose was attached to it and was being inflated. Both very painful.

2nd round of tests after EKG results 11-8-2, showed irregular heart beat & Doc said possibly mild heart attack. Yesterday did the nuke imagery & treadmill. Hopefully get results Monday. Was scheduled for knee replacement 8-23 , but this came up now if I get clearance it will happen Wednesday 9-1. Thought I was in good shape, very active & still go surfing at 70 yrs old. Lost about 30 pounds. Told the doctor that his news was giving me heart attack. Maybe a prayer would help. I’ve been saying mine.

I am from Corpus, never got into surfing. I knew a surfer chick years ago, that was as close as I got, to getting into surfing. I never got into surfing, but I got into surfer chicks, particularly wild, crazy, blonde ones.

But one of my teachers from school, is a good buddy of Pat. I have known they were buddies since I was in school. I think they have been buddies since they were in school. I see posts every so often, about him. I don't know if he still surfs, but assume he possibly does.


Surfing at 70, you are doing better than me. I tried getting up on a board, once and decided I had better things to do. I never could ride a skate board either, just was not in me, to balance on anything.

Hopefully the heart problem is minor. If this is your first round with heart problems, again, you are doing pretty dang good.

Knee problems I can relate to, not a lot of fun. I have been told knee replacement will get rid of a lot of pain.

I had a surgery pushed when i was 37 due low pulse.

Once we jumped through all the hoops from the cardiologist it was all good. Prayers that yours goes just as well.

Glad to hear you can still surf at 70, must be doing something right.

I totally understand. At 60, I had a physical before a surgery and everything came back fine. At 65 I had the same doctor give me another physical. He said everything is fine but when did you have a heart attack? Told him I never did. My EKG showed I had.
Went to cardiologist and he ran all the test you talk about. EKG shows I had a heart attack but all other test came back normal.
I have what is called LBBB, "Left Bundle Branch Blockage". Electrical issue where my heart doesn't get the same signals to both sides of the heart.
I've been seeing my cardiologist every 6 months for several years with no change and no meds.
