I have a buddy that lives in Knox, North Dakota and he goes and fishes for catfish in Canada every year....maybe the Red River in Sask.

If you're going for dorkfish make sure you use corndogs for bait.

My Father and Uncle used to go to Canada to fish. I was only 5 at the time and I remember them catching large catfish that were coal black.

I have been up to the Quetico Provencial Park area 6 times for canoe/camping trips that last about 6 days each.........never caught a catfish though. Not sure if they are up there but the action is so HOT & HEAVY it has never crossed my mind.

Up north they call them bullheads and look at you funny if you talk about eating them. The think all species of catfish suck fishes' "sea pickles" up off the river or lake bottom and don't eat them....at least those I have been around aay?.........

If you are going fishing up north and don't try to catch and eat walleye you are missing out. Single handily the best tasting fish that swims in freshwater.....hard to beat crappie but they do.

I asked KEEP about Walleyes because I've heard they are better than Crappie. Seems like he said they aren't in the lakes where we are going to be.
