    Trophy Rock success?

Anyone had good success with using a trophy rock or other types of mineral blocks, molasses, etc? We are hunting a new place and I’m going to put one out this weekend with a camera on it. Also, if you had success what part of Texas? I hunt NE Texas and also around Gainesville.

They like them (trophy rocks) in S/E OK. I try to have them out year round. A heavy rain will work them over pretty hard is the only negative I have seen.

We use them west of Menard. The deer like them but I wouldn’t say it’s an advantage for us. We have better luck with the record rack berry blocks, alfalfa and sweet feed

Central Texas, started out with Mortons cow salt block…several years after it disappeared it was still hit up as scrape.

Bought a couple rack rocks and they got hit up hard. Spray the rock or block down with vanilla spray (and surrounding trees and foliage up high) and the fat kids will find it faster.

Ive used the minerals in a bag and followed instructions…and got no activity.

We use them in the off season in Illinois with good success.
it's illegal to use "bait" up there so we've gotta stop putting them out labor day but we've got lots of deer hitting them up yearly. We've also found that they disolve, they soak up in the ground so the deer come back to thos spots pretty regular. Or maybe it's just a habbit for them, i don't know.
Probably really no different than any of the other stuff.

Use Trophy Rock (crushed minerals) and Jurassic Rock. I take several bags and pour in one spot to form a bigger "rock". Have deer visiting it all the time. I've had success in Central TX and Gulf Coast area.

Also, check Tractor Supply in the spring when a lot of the minerals go on clearance.

My deer like Trophy Rock. I get tons of pictures of them licking it.

Get the red trace mineral block at your feed store. Half the price of Trophy Rock and just as good.

What vanilla spray do you get?

Redmond granular salt is exactly the same thing at a fraction of the cost. Same company, same quarry, just clever marketing for the hunting crowd allows them to put a big buck on the cover and charge more.

I like Trophy Rocks and put one in all of my pens. Cost more than other blocks but last a lot longer. Deer like them too.

We use them with good results.. picked up about 20 a year ago when tractor supply had them on clearance. I think we paid about a buck a piece for them. I would buy the red trace mineral blocks before I would pay full sticker

Our deer liked them around the Lufkin area. Would also used granular stock salt.

Our deer like trophy rocks a lot but mainly during the summer. Once they shed velvet and it starts to cool down use typically decreases
