Text Spam from E-Mail

I did a search couldn't find anything. I'm fairly certain I already made a similar post.

Anyways.
I have AT&T.
They annoy me. With a regular text we just fwd to 7726. AT&T Replies asking for the phone number that sent it I copy and paste it.

However when the spam comes in from an E-Mail address I didn't think we could report it as spam as there's no phone number.

I was looking online this past weekend and found this.
Thought I'd share.

Awesome I have been included in a mass text from email for the past 6 months off and on. The messages are sent to a block of consecutive numbers that unfortunately I am included in. Gets very annoying!

That is not necessarily how it works. They use the email to forward to a spam number then send out. I get this mess all the time.

I called ATT and had them change the software so my phone cannot get a text by email. It took about 10 minutes. Plus I do not know anyone who who would text me through email.

When I first started trying to stop them AT&T tech support let me know that, that just let's the sender know they reached a valid number.

I get these also on a regular basis. All the numbers that are included I have blocked but they show back up again. There is always a email only that has not been blocked and I block it now.

I would not do this as it just adds you to more spammers list of active numbers.
