    Truck AC guru question!

Helped a buddy put a AC system in a 2006 Silverado. New compressor and condenser, pumped the unit down to make sure it was holding pressure which it is, so we know there isn’t any leaks. We then charged the system per the directions and the directions and the compressor would not come on. We checked the fuse and it was bad so we replaced it. The compressor then kicked on and then right back off. We even changed the relay and the compressor will turn on it about 2 seconds every minutes of so. Any ideas why or maybe something we did wrong??

Did you bypass the pressure switch to see if it will run?

Have pressure gauges on it? What psi was it at? Possibly a pressure switch

Sounds as if it needs more refrigerant. It will cycle on the low pressure switch until almost completely charged

No I don’t think we did that.

Yes we had gauges on it.

We used the AC pro thing to charge the system. It was empty and we put the correct amount per the can.

Jump the pressure sensor and see if it runs, it is probably low on freon.

Low pressure switch was bad. Thanks for all your help.
