    Ghost Blind

Has anyone in this forum used a ghost blind? I'm thinking about buying to use on the Chaparral for my December bow hunt. The you tube seem to make them look ok. I will also be setting up my tent ground blind for a second stand, especially if it rains.

I’ve had one for 5 years I think. It works.

We use them on public (Amistad), way better than a popup. I don't care how much you brush in a popup on public the deer just know something's different. Buddy's first hunt with one he had to shoot a doe in the neck walking straight at him because it was going to walk right into the blind. I've had mixed success, seems like if you're careful how to set it up it can work very well but if you just throw it up and hope it works or the wind shifts it around much it's not so great. It's light and easy to carry. My biggest problem is my dumbass always has deer coming up behind me, doesn't do much good then.

A little brushing in makes a huge difference. It doesn’t take much. Get you a short chair to sit in so you’re not too high above the blind.

They are not hard to make those blinds. It’s just Coroplast sheets and reflective film.

I’ve got one you can borrow if you’re in the Houston area.

They are awesome. Shot many deer out of one. Fun story. The first year I was hunting out of one,y dad tells me where he out it. I know the woods like the back of my hand. I walk out to where he tells me it is. Can't find it. Text dad, where did you put this thing, you are losing it.

I was 3' from it. I killed a deer that night in it. And my dad reminds me the night before opening day, every year. Lol

I wish I had the extenders. They seems to provide more cover to draw your bow

Just use HEC's and you don't need a blind

I will most likely buy and with the extenders. Thanks for all who have replied to my post. Besides seeing deer pictures and the hunting stories that go with them, this website is awesome in regards to how we help each other with experience and advice. Texaspyro21, I will shoot you a PM. thanks

I made some extenders for mine.

Do you shoot from your knees when using it? I figure standing would spook the deer.

I have stood up to shoot turkeys using mine. The closest was 15 yards.

I had better success when the deer are coming straight at it. They seem to see the reflection changing as they walk across it.

I use the extenders and would not be without them. I think it is the best ground based tool, far superior to a pop up blind in every way. I am speaking as a mobile hunter on public lands.

I've used mine with extenders many times. Buy the carry bag if you plan to hike around with it, well worth the price.

It definitely works, just be sure to secure it so it doesn't wobble in the wind. Brush it in real good in front to give the mirror finish something to reflect.
