    What cell camera to get

I hunt in Alto. My phone works at my blind. Can call, send text and snaps from there. It Verizon. What is the best cell camera for the buck. I’ve done some research and come to the conclusion it might be hit or miss. I value your opinions over random reviews. I would want the unlimited picture plan. So if you have insight on plans and ease of set up that would be helpful as well. Thanks

Not much knowledge about them but 2 people in my extended family have Spypoints and they do not last. Both right now at home and not at the feeders.

I actually had a SpyPoint Link Evo that was great, until the resident Donkeys rubbed against it and broke the antenna off earlier this year. Only reason I had it was because I bought one of their SMS cameras around 3 years ago and they phased it out about 6 months after I bought it but to SpyPoint’s credit, they emailed out that anyone with one of those cameras that was still in the warranty period would be sent a free camera if you could provide proof that it was in fact still under warranty.

That said, I won’t buy another SpyPoint. We’ve had several others in the family that pretty much never worked right, and it isn’t because of the cell service. They’re just simply not very well made and to be honest, there are cameras out there in the price range, or less, that work better.

I don't have alot of experience with cell cams but just put one out a month ago. It's a muddy manifest and they run about $99 bucks and academy will run them on sale for $79 every now and again. I have been very pleased with it and service is $15 month for unlimited pics, $10 for 2000, or $5 for 600 pics. After a month its still on full battery but I just moved it from our camp area where it wasn't taken many pics to a spot a set up. Here is a pic I just got sent and what the app looks like. Shows your battery level and signal strength and you can change your camera settings from the app like most.

Tactacams are the best for the least amount of money. Reveals are $99 and Reveal X are $119. The Verizon ones will work great for you.

Do you have to buy a Verizon specific camera?

Most all of the cell cams out today are att or Verizon specific. You choose the carrier you want or works best in your area.

I am currently running 6 Spypoint Link Micro cams. I have 3 more ready to activate. I have had 1 go bad on me in 2 years and 2 lost to floods. I have good luck with them unlike some folks.... its hit or miss it seems.. side note the 100 free pics each month is nice from Spypoint .

I bought a spypoint and it took great pics. Until the batteries ran out. Then it wouldn’t work again. I finally threw it in the trash and bought a reveal x. Been great so far.

Yes if Verizon works the best in your area then get a camera that uses Verizon. Most will say on the box either AT&T or Verizon

Spartan and Covert have worked for me. Got three in the field going on 5 years.
