    Barndo Door question

I'm currently in the process of building a shop/brando behind the house. I had to fire the metal guy before all part were delivered, including the "garage door".
He had ordered a 12x10 panel door without asking me which I wanted. At first I trusted him, but since it's been since Jan and all I have is a frame up, I'm questioning his judgment. So, this will be in the shop half, it will be spray foamed, do I get a roll up door or stick to the original plan of an insulated panel door? Also if anyone has a place to buy either, I would certainly appreciate the contact info.

The big barn/shop at my Mom's place have two big sliders one on each end. I really like those. I am sure there are some downsides but I haven't seen any.

This. You will be better off with the panel door. The roll ups have no insulation and make all kinds of noise while closed. The only advantage I see with the roll up is that they don't occupy space where lighting goes like the panel doors.

Exactly....the key is how tall the ceiling is and how much ceiling space are you willing to give up. We have gone with roll ups based on that fact in all our shops (lower ceilings).

If you have ceiling space, I would tend to lean towards panel door (which you can insulate), particularly if you think you may run AC one day to it.

Panel door with hi lift track to save ceiling space. The track continues up the wall then breaks over at the ceiling & not blocking lighting
