    Polaris Ranger problems

I have 2 Rangers. One is a smaller, 2004 model with almost zero problems and 2018 side by side that is constantly in the shop. The biggest problem was a warped head. Now it shifts hard. Anyone else having problems with the larger rangers?

    Bought both new.

I just replaced the shifter cable on my 2012 due to “hard shifting” and getting stuck. The rubber boot on the rear had deteriorated.

There's a reason that Can-ams are hard to come by.

All bs aside OP. I’ve been around 2 newer model rangers in the last 6 months and both had shifting issues. One is a pampered 1000xp with less than 40 hours and it doesn’t want to stay in gear

              I have a 2010 ranger crew and a2017 xp.
I've thought about selling the crew, but it has been a wonderful unit, no issues, cranks and runs every time.
2017 has been the same way.
Might have to go the can am next go around.

My advice is to take it to a different shop, new set of eyes and experience working on it

I bought the extended warrantee so I take it back to the dealer. Saved me all but $50.00 on the warped head repair. It is just a pain because I keep it 60 miles north at my cabin.

I have a 2020 XP 1000 crew that I’m putting on the market just because of the problems and the dealership I bought it from are a bunch of idiots. I bought mine from Iron Power Sports in Katy and the warranty I have is only good if they do the work. I’ve replaced a belt, sway bar, and pieces on the primaries are rusted up and have to be replaced.

I have had pretty good luck out of my 09 Ranger, but I won’t buy another one anytime soon.

Ours keeps dying. Not good when you are waay deep in the property.

2012 Crew here and very little issues. My next will probably be a Can am, if I can find one.....

Brother in law is replacing the motor on his 2015 right now. Only 1200 or so miles. The rest of us have Can Ams in the family. He’s going Can Am next time.
