Any of you ever built a blind out of CMU'S? I remember someone building one out of stone. Just curious because I imagine a CMU blind would be cooler in fall and warmer in winter.

I have thought of a shell for a cabin but not a stand. I also learned if I do not own the property am I cool with leaving it there? It would work but it will only stay as cool or warm as your roof/window system will contain. I would be more concerned with your plan for the foundation. Short term or long term? Short term no issue but if you plan on it being there awhile and not done properly it will sink.

Yes, we own the land. We have a very "rocky" foundation. I have a blind on a ridge, above a draw, we have a stand in now. It needs to be replaced so I was thinking about building a CMU blind on that ridge. The foundation will be really good because the ridge is solid bedrock.
