Weed ID...How to kill

This weed popped up this year and has spread like wild fire!
Anybody know how to kill it? I've used 2,4,D and Roundup with varying results.
It's not Dallis grass.

You have to get control of that quick. It's basically crabgrass. Msma or Target 6 if you don't want to kill the bermuda. Otherwise round-up.

I mix the MSMA pretty hot, and spot spray them. It will sting St Augustine some, but doesn't kill it all the way.

You can use roundup, MSMA, or Select. MSMA and Select wont kill bermuda grass, so it's safe for most lawns. 24D won't do anything to grass. It is for broadleaves only.

That's goosegrass. MSMA or Roundup. Obviously Roundup will kill whatever Bermuda grass it hits as well. You can also cut it out just under the crown and it won't come back.

Goosegrass loves highly compacted soils, so aerating more often will help in the future. It is also a prolific seed producer, so pre-emergents would be wise next spring to keep it from coming back. Ronstar or Spectacle would be the best pre-emergents for it.

Yes sire, it starts seeding a couple of days after mowing!! About like Coastal Bermuda, hate that also.
I hit select stands the other day with Roundup...some died some didn't.

Looks like dallisgrass to me.

I've killed almost all of the Dallis grass the last couple years or I'd take a comparison picture. It usually sprouts away from a central root with a ring of grass inside it. MSMA is deadly to Dallis grass.


Just sprayed MSMA again. We'll see.

BTW that first; picture, you can see dead Bermuda around the "gooseweed" from a previous Roundup spray.
