Latest Icon model run...cat 3 into Matty. Strictly entertainment. I'd be more worried if/when it shows this once we get a LLC to track. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few models going into Louisiana with this.

Most models are all over Louisiana as a strong or major hurricane this morning. The eastward shift has to do with a weakness in the southeast ridge and a stronger system (possibly shooting or skirting the Yucatan Channel) which tend to move more poleward trying to find that weakness. NONE of this is written in stone and I'd expect shifts in either direction over the next couple of days. We don't even have a center of circulation to track at the present time BUT modeling has gotten a lot better in the past 10 years.
