    Diamond Outfitters experiences?

Well, my dad and I rolled the dice and booked an elk hunt with Diamond Outfitters today. Has anyone on here had any experiences with them, good, bad, or in between? We’re not trying to kill a giant elk, just trying to get my dad a solid opportunity at a bull before he gets too much older.

We’re putting in for AZ & NM draw, but Colorado private land is the plan, if we don’t (probably won’t) draw.

As in jack diamond. You'll be fine. My neighbor has been hunting with him several years.

Not a bad price on the 2:1 Arizona elk. Hope it all works out for you and your dad.

Good luck on your hunt, but the time to ask about an outfitter is before you book with them.

No $h!t, captain obvious. Not that I have to explain anything to you, but timing and my dad finally committing to going didn’t allow for that. If you don’t have anything positive to contribute, scroll on by.

Dang, someone struck a nerve! Don't get bent out of shape because someone asks a very feasible question.

Yep.......OP got his feelings hurt real easy.
Heck, I even wished him luck on his hunt.

They look solid...understand your situation. I assume 2:1 rates are per person and does that include both people hunting? Looks awesome.

Feelings aren’t hurt. Don’t give me a back handed “good luck” after a smart ***** comment. I’d expect more from a fellow Brazoria county boy.

Yeah it’s 2:1 with both hunting for a bull. My dad will be 71 in October, and we’ve been trying to get something scheduled for a couple of years. First it was my grandmother’s death last year, followed by my folks selling their place & moving to the hill country, then mom got Covid. They’re in the middle of building a house this fall, so next year needed to happen. My dad really regrets never going back to CO with my grandpa before he got cancer & passed away. We haven’t been since October of 2000. I’m a pretty sentimental guy so it was important to get something booked, which is why I went ahead with this one with a guaranteed land owner tag, even if it’s not for a giant bull. More important to me that my dad gets another opportunity at a bull, and that I’m there with him. I was hoping for some feedback on experiences, good or bad, so that I know what to expect and what to possibly look out for. I’ve been researching outfitters for a few years, and will continue putting in for multiple draws a year. I have time (I hope) but my dad doesn’t. He also has asbestosis, so not sure how many more years his lungs will handle altitude. Sorry for such a long response, but this is why smart ***** comments on this don’t sit very well with me.

What “feasible question” did he ask? All I read was a statement.

"Good luck" was the first thing I wrote, then I simply stated a fact, and wasn't trying to be a SA. You chose to take it the wrong way.
Anyway, good luck on your hunt and I hope your outfitter works out.
