    Hog Traps..........

Those of y'all that have built hog traps might be able to give me some advise.

I never had much success trapping anything in this trap(yes I set it) and wonder if it is big enough.

It is located in a strip of timber located between these two fields.

    What do you think?

Do they root up by the pines ???
I would try and place it by some hardwoods, oak, hackberries, something they root by...or place it out in the open by th fields. Get some of that sow in heat and spray it all around the inside to get them interested.

it looks like it should work.......have you tried leaving it open for about a month and letting the hogs get used to going in there. then set the door.......

Is that feeder all you use or do you broadcast corn around as well? I would leave the door open for a while and spread some corn out and let them eat it and then try setting the trap with the same set up. The trap looks like it should work. Good luck.
