Vaccine maker's are not reporting 1%. That number is based on the number of reports mentioning tinnitus from the VAERS system. Anyone can submit to that system. Doesn't mean it's not an issue, but 1% of people self-reporting it is very different from that being the final number as reported by a manufacturer or the CDC.

I would be booking a appointment with a ear nose and throat specialist ASAP
Instead of debating the COVID-19 deal, I personally want answers not conjecture

I say ENT doctor, because I am deaf from something I picked up overseas and by the time it was properly diagnosed it was to late to save my hearing

My wife got the Johnson vaccine prior to our trip to Branson since we were sure to be exposed to COVID there. I didn’t get it and took my chances. About 5 days after getting the vaccine she got an ear ache. She has occasionally had ear infections and assumed that’s what it was. She went on one of the Dr apps and they have her a script for antibiotics. She started taking it immediately. 2 days later her ear ache was worse and now in both ears. She kept taking the antibiotics a few more days until the pain kept getting worse. I took her to Hospitality ER. They said her ears aren’t infected. They couldn’t find anything wrong with her. They gave her more antibiotics and we came home. That was yesterday. Today she says her ears are worse and now ringing badly. I think it’s from the vaccine. Has anyone here gotten the vaccine and then had ear problems? It seems to be getting worse, not better.
I got the pfizer back in April only because I know other countries are going to demand people coming in to have been vaccinated. I felt a tad run down on each dose, maybe a border line headache but nothing that kept me away from work or out of the gym those weeks. I talked to some other people who took the pfizer and the symptoms ranged from nothing at all to pretty darn sick.

Following as me and the wife are getting closer to being forced to get it for our jobs.

Worried about side effects even though they are relatively small %.

A ENT doc as mentioned before would be a good start. Hope she is feeling better soon.

Just FYI in case you get the shot... The nurse at the ER said that most of the new "break through" cases of COVID they see from vaccinated people got the J&J shot. IF I were getting a shot I guess I might not get that one based on that.

I did ask the nurse if ear ache could be associated with the shot and she said "I've seen so much shady crap with those shots there's no telling". LOL

Man... That's what sucks... So much communication about negative side effects from the shots have been censored or eliminated it seems heard for medical staff to communicated to get decent data...

Basically feel like there are three options:

                1) Potentially never get covid or the vaccine over the next few years or longer
                2) Get covid (who knows what happens but overall % leans towards nothing or flue like symptoms) and then good to go with antibodies for a few months or longer
                3) Get shot (who knows what happens side effect wise but overall % leans possibly nothing)

All sucks and once again hope the Mrs gets better.

This was in that article in the first paragraph. This is why it is NOT APROVED BY FDA.

Experts say there's not currently enough scientific evidence to suggest the tinnitus cases are caused by vaccination.

Seems like he got covid, then got the vaccine, then the tinnitus.
The articles I'm seeing don't mention it though, so I may be wrong on that.
We had a thread about it when it happened.

I got the Pfizer in April. Day after the first shot my kidneys were sore. After about mid-day it was gone and been fine ever since. Didn't happen after second shot.

Our whole family got maderna no side effects, IMO the drive to get the shot was more dangerous,

First of all, OP, I hope your wife is able to get the medical attention she needs and gets better. Tinnitus sucks. Gunfire, loud music, and motorcycles caused mine. Sometimes I get a little relief when I do the netipot, like it releases some pressure.

About the connection between the vaccine and tinnitus... if anyone is able to find the thread that mentioned Kent Taylor taking the vaccine, please post it (I couldn't find it). I have searched the web with multiple browsers, TOR, into the deep dark web, Twitter, Reddit - you name it... there is ZERO mention of Kent Taylor and vaccines. Not even in the Twitter replies about his death. There is a post about a radio program that was going to talk about it, then it leads nowhere. It's like it has been wiped off the web.

However, there is no shortage of reports on Twitter of people developing tinnitus after the shot.

That doesn't help, but sometimes it helps to know you're not alone.

I got the J&J, had a headache and my ears SLIGHTLY rang for a day. Went away though after 24 hours along with the headache. Give it time, or bring her to the ENT.

My wife talked to her sister last night who lives in Colorado. Turns out she had the exact same side effects from the shot. Horrible ear ache and loud ringing. She said the ear ache went away in about a week but the ringing is still there 4 months later.

Tinnitus affects around 3 million people a year per my googler, I'd definitely get in to an ENT.
