    Lake Whitney?

Any local fisherman on here? Have few questions about the lake. Feel free to PM me.

    Thanks!

What kind of fishing you want-n to know about? I've fished it a time or three. I'm sure there are others here who have fished it more than me.

You have to use cocaine and cash to catch them

          Lake Whitney?

Plan on heading up there this weekend. I’m local to Lake Somerville and know how wind affects that lake. With the projected wind speeds for this weekend how does it fish? With the higher bluff banks does it block the wind any? Went last weekend and crushed the stripers. Biting at the nail to get back on them!

Sometimes the landscape can block wind if it's from the east or ESE. And if you hug the shoreline on that side near the bluffs. If the wind is more from the south, it can get rough out there. As the wind has more time to pick the water up. I've been on it a number of times with a 3' chop. And two times with a 3.5' chop. It's not fun in a small craft when it's that rough! I thought I was going to break a hull on a 16' bass boat one time, trying to get back across that rough water. Had to go quartering down wind till I got across to the bluffs. Then hug the bluffs till I got back to the ramp. I was not expecting the wind pick up that day. But when I came out of that cove, it was nuts! Always plan your launch and return according to the wind.

I would be fishing shad on points and humps close to the channel between Cedron and Towash creeks. You can catch them trolling pet spoons about 20 to 25 feet.

Probably don’t even need the cash.
