True about the tip. Had one incident with tip failure, but I will continue to use them. Just hit behind the shoulder, not in it. Every other animal I've shot using them I have found within short distance of the shot with awesome blood trail.

Thanks to all I think I am going to get my tuned up and then see if the broadheads fly exactly like the tips,

I still may try the Rage , but I also like to spot and stalk at times too.

try the rage, you will love them. i started this last season using them. they fly true..... make big entrance holes and huge exit holes..30 yards is the farthest i have had to trail a deer shot with a rage... a little rage in the cage

Ha! Yeah who wants to do things the easy way? I'd rather spend my time doing something I don't necessarily have to

I've heard a lot of great stuff about the Rage broadheads.... but I still like the Reapers.

I have 3 packs here (Atoms) I'll see how they work. I have 6 packs of Montecs all sharpened by myself they are all capable of shaving the hair off your arms and they did the trick on the hogs I shot. The montecs have really impressed me, the other head I might try is the G5 Striker magnum.

"""""Yesterday I saw a guy on TV shoot a fixed blade BH into a nice big 7 point in south Texas. The guy hit the buck at 15 yards square in the shoulder and it only got about a inch of penetration! He hunted that buck on his return trip to the ranch and killed the buck 3 weeks later. They showed in slowmo how the BH hit and he openly admitted that any broadhead, fixed or not, can do this. I personally have never had this prob with any broadhead but I love my rages. """

You hit a deer in the shoulder with the Atom...it compresses to get thru the bone...it has the benefits of both mech on the accuracy...and fixed on the exposed cutting edges...plus compressibility to out penetrate ANY other design on the market...as seen on huge boar hogs and deer quartering towards in the video....we go right thru that bone and keep going. You are right in that any other Fixed or Mechanical will STOP penetrating thru bone....ours...is the most efficient use of kinetic energy due to flexibility of the compressible cutting width. Lethal Engineering...its what we do.
Give the Atom a try...you won't be disappointed.

                    Tell me your thoughts!

You don't have to go mechanical

                    When it REIGN's

                    Lightning Strikes!

Mech can and do fail. You sound like a solid guy what play with toys and rubber bands. STICK with something that will BLOW throught the barrel not explode on contact.

check it out YouTube ephunting barrel testing.

No I don't own the company just met the inventor's and hit it off and darn impressed with flight and no doubt penetration. New idea in broadheads check it out.

They sell enough to not have to according to the rep. Just got in 1.5" replacement blades for lower KE bows.

Talk about a polarizing question. You either love them or hate them. All it takes is once for them to fail and you will hate them. Just pray that if you do have a failure, it is on a coyote and not a B&C buck

no mechanical will ever be as reliable as a good quailty fixed head... most but not all will not penetrate as deep as a good fixed cut on contact head... I assure you there are several fixed heads out there that will fly with any field tip and better than some mechanicals...

most people enjoy great accuracy with mechanicals,,, of them the rage is one of the best,,,, some fixed heads just plain stink in the accuracy department but only some of them...

I have shot nothing but fixed blades and am not likely to change to a blade that will work well "most" of the time...

some of the super accurate broadheads I have seen and used are the montec, striker, slick trick, phat head, crossfire, razorcap, and my personal go to head is the nap razorback... any and all of these heads have produced 3" groups or less at 60 yards....

not many people use the razorback but ive had 100% pass throughs, and consistant 3" groups at 60 yards, along with dead on impact with my field tips

good luck with whatever you use,,,

I shot the rage 2 blade and liked them. but this year i am going with the meat seeker 2 blade I like the way they open much better.

love my 3 blade, have only had one not pass through on a deer and it was buried in the off side shoulder. Deer went down in about 50 yards. Had one not pass through a hog but I shot him facing me right between the shoulders. I guess the thing I like about them the most is the blood trails. Would have to be blind to miss it. At least on a good shot anyway.
