We had 1 in Coleman with an ear tag we made off limits, only saw her a few times on stand, thought she was a high fence escapee

Hays County has a pretty large population of Melanistic deer.

Must be something in the water. Years ago I used to see melanistic squirrels everywhere. Haven't seen any lately but they used to tickle me to death as a little redneck that loved to squirrel hunt
