I have hunted out west many times and to this point never really documented the experience the way it should be. The next trip i would like to make a better effort to do this. I have a cheap sony camera ill take but was looking for options for GoPro type cameras as well. Are there any competing cameras that are decent?

I have a pile of those gopro knockoff from Amazon, and most work just fine, usually $40-$50. They are great for videos of the hunter, and anything close up. They are no good whatsoever for videos of your shots on animals. You need a much better camera with zoom. A deer at 20 yards will look like a squirrel at a 100 yards. Those cameras a very wide angle, 120 to 180 degrees.
