Dr. Tylock (DFW area) did mine in 2004 and I have zero regrets. Had a mild burn right after the surgery but they gave me a sleeping pill and work up later feeling fine. Wore glasses/contacts all those years and can't beleive i didn't do it sooner. I had 20/15 in both eyes for about a year after the surgery but now i'm 20/20 in both eyes. No issues to speak of and the ability to wake up and see the alarm clock or go to bed watch TV is great... but i do wear readers now.... but lasik won't fix that. Best of luck to you!

This has been my exact experience. Did the “mono” vision lasik surgery to left eye only 3 years ago. I too struggled for awhile with close up vision but eventually my eyes adjusted just fine. My distance and night vision is great right now. Still no readers and no regrets….other than wishing I had done it 10 years earlier.

LASIK done in 2006. 20/20 in both eyes still.
Note, if you are an airplane pilot, I think the FAA frowns on getting the near/far combo.
I occasionally wear readers when on the computer and almost always when reading in bed with reduced lighting.
LASIK was one of the best decisions ever.

I had it done around 97. Need cheaters for up close about 5 years ago. Just got small distance corrective glasses 3 months ago. Would do it again in a heart beat.

PRK here too, due to my cornea being too thin. Recovery sucked, to put it lightly.. but comforting to know i'll never have to deal with a flap or scar. went from nearly legally blind w/ astigmatism to 20/15 in both..

I had it done 2 years ago at 44 years of age. Had both eyes done for distance as it didn't make sense to "me" to have one for close and one for distance. Definitely needed readers immediately afterwards for up close. I continue to deal with dry eyes and use the sterile eye drops, to this day.
