I guess I should have said, " After effects of shingles! " It has been 16 months and still have numb fingers and some pain. Been on every pill they have, no luck. Get the shot if you haven't.

I had shingles a few months ago Doc gave me a steroid shot and some pills to take pretty much wiped it out in a few days. We caught it early though, I was lucky I already had an appt. with him for my yearly exam it was like day 2 or 3.

Did you get it at the physician’s office.

Do you have an advantage plan? Maybe that’s the difference? I just started Medicare and have an advantage plan. Just had my annual physical and Dr said I should consider shingles vaccine

I have a prescription plan and Plan F but with the plan and using CVS the shot was not covered. My normal prescriptions are usually $2 each.

On our drug plan with Wellcare, the best and cheapest overall plan for our current drugs the wife and I take, we had not reached the deductible for our plan. No problem on my part, some prescriptions are free others are $2 a month and I have paid ZERO except for premiums for anything at the hospital or 24 hour emergency clinics when needed.

We work with a gentleman that finds the best coverage for the $ spent for this coverage.

I would definitely go see your doctor. Shingles can cause serious problems if it ends up in your eyes.

I have Cigna in addition to Medicare and Welcare for prescriptions. I guess one or the other paid it.
I had paid my Medicare deductible though.

Got my 2nd shingles vaccine shot last Friday late afternoon.
Saturday morning, the arm was sore (expected as it was such on the 1st shot), but I also noticed some soreness in my jaw (rear, at the hinge point) with a mild pain while chewing breakfast. About 2 PM Saturday, I got a bit chilled and all the joints were a bit sore. Felt a bit like the beginnings of the 'flu, but by late Saturday I was starting to feel back to normal.
Still, better than getting the shingles !
