    Help needed: Sprinkler system

I have a busted one of these: backflow preventer Apollo Valve Model: 40205T2

I have found them online, but also it looks like this is a dated version and newer types might exist.

Can someone guide me on best replacement part? I’m not opposed to going back with exact replacement, but if there is a better part I’d like to consider that. Thanks!

What is busted? Is the backflow cracked from freezing? You can buy a repair kit if its just leaking and needs new internals.

You can find those at Ewing irrigation, site one landscape, water zone, if you don’t have anything else tie into system you can go with. Double check assembly too

Busted gasket got my attention, but then found cracked main body.

Outside city limits but in the ETJ of Georgetown.

RPZ is reduced pressure zone correct? Not sure, but I have very high pressure coming to my property. I think reducing the pressure is needed.

Looking for the simplest, most affordable and most correct fix.

RPZ has a reduced pressure zone between two check valves. It'll drop about 10 pounds of pressure overall. If you can install a double check under the surface you won't have this issue again. RPZ is the most expensive of the backflow devices. You can get a double check half the price of an RP.

                  Bringing this back up.

Anyone available for a PM for a few questions?

I think I want to swap out for a normal check valve, wondering if I need to bury or can install above ground and just insulate well…also curious how important it is to get a lead free valve….

Feel free to PM me.You don’t have to put It under ground but that helps keep it protected from all sorts of elements. If I’m not mistaken you can only put a Double Check Assembly below ground.I think several years ago all brass valves sold for water had to be virtually lead free like .25 or less.

The rats ate your insulation…. That install is a problem waiting to happen in a bunch of ways.
