So,how does a house sell for MORE than the asking price?( I’m kinda stupid on housing markets).

Because it’s a sellers market, and they are selling fast.
My sister buys higher end houses for rentals. She said in Montgomery county if you don’t offer over asking price, you don’t stand a chance of getting it. She offered 500k on a 475k house not too long ago. It sold for 535k.
