If the slide motor fails you can always run it in and out with a drill or impact or even a ratchet wrench. In the 16 years my trailer has been on a lease I have had to do that once. I wouldn’t stress about it. As for leaks I have never had a seal leak but I have had Wasps get in via the corners where the seals overlap.
