Same here, I've trained many, many miles and grueling hours for several years, not quite to the extent of these pros but it is no pansy sport. Loved every minute of it and I still love watching it because I understand what's involved.
Thank goodness these guys weren't on a 60-70 mph descent down a mountain.
Aside from that, there were very likely some significant injury come out of this.
All the kudos to LeMond and Armstrong.

There’s a little bicycle ride up Wichita Falls way a week or so before Labor Day. A hundred miles long and Hotter'N Hell. Not for the faint of heart.

If a random F250 pulling a cattle trailer would come behind the crowd 100mph or so a couple times a day more folks would watch!

We can’t discriminate against liberals. They have rights too.

One of the riders involved in the wreck got back on his bike and finished that leg of the race and then had to drop out of the rest because BOTH of his arms were broken!!!

For a experienced rider the Hotter Than Hell is pretty easy due to it being so flat. Now the slower riders have a little trouble due to being out there so long in the heat. I've done it in under 5 hours and it wasn't to bad but I've also went over my bars at 23 mph and that wasn't a very good day.

                    Child's play.
Done it multiple times, no spandex, no azz padding, no clip in shoes, etc, just a guy on a bike.
It's over-rated and boring as hell.
I'll toss the MS 150 in there as well.
Had to get back on the mountain bike permanently, before the gay got me .

If you go to minute 3:42 of the video you can see her sitting there with her sign folded up. What an idiot.
