    electric log splitter

Anyone use one? I mostly only do post oak for BBQ and camp fires and I'd rather not have another fuel powered motor to maintain. I enjoy hand splitting but I'm getting to the age a first cut would be nice. The Wen has great reviews but I'm looking for real world info on one. thanks

They are all pretty much the same. Had one from Tractor Supply , motor gave out in 1st 30 minutes. Took it back. Bought one online from SunJoe. It has been a work horse. Mind you these electrics are fine for the smaller stuff but not much good for any thing over 8 inches in diameter or mor than 18 inches long.

i've got a ryobi one that i've had for years ... it leaks so i keep it on cardboard at the ranch, and use it to split oak and mesquite for my smoker . works great as long as you cut the logs perfectly square and avoid big knots.

I have a WEN 6.5 ton and it works great. It's slow but I just split wood as I need it so it isn't a problem. I go thru a lot of wood heating my shop and house and no problems in the two years I have been using it.
