    utv sprayer for food plots

Looking at all of them and trying to figure out what i need. I like the idea of boomless since im in E TX woods. Looks like most of them have a 10-15' spray width. Will be used for spraying a couple 1ac plots, one 3ac, and i am planning on a larger 8-10ac plot eventually. How many times would i have to refill a 25gal UTV sprayer when spraying roundup or fertilizer/etc? I think id prefer the UTV type since all the tow behinds seem to have little wheels that might work great in a flat yard, but not on my property roads between hunting areas and i dont want to spend $1000+ for a larger trailer model.

It depends on what herbicide you’re using. There is no “one size fits all” when it comes to herbicides. If I were starting over I’d buy the components from Northern Tool or someone like them and build my own.

I will echo part of this. The amount of water (carrier for herbicide) will depend wholly on your speed and the type of tip or boomless sprayer you use. I have a boomless one that is ~25 gallons and it goes pretty fast. For better efficiency, I would get a small boom one that will still mount on the UTV or 4 wheeler. I rarely use my boomless one anymore and instead get out my big trailer/PTO powered one because it uses way less water and has better kill.

Don't know if something like this would do the trick, but I converted a 12 volt, 25 gallon wand/gun sprayer to a boomless broadcast sprayer for about $35.

Single nozzle that throws about a 18 foot spray pattern. Picked up the nozzle off Amazon and some fittings as well. Works great for my purposes.

I’ve been very pleased with my 65 gal sprayer from Ag Spray. It is boomless and has a larger spray pattern than than my old fimco model. As others have said, depending on the chemical, count on 10-15 gal/acre

IMO your going to be better off just using a 25 gallon or 50 gallon tank on the back of a ranger or small pickup. By the time you drag a 250 gallon spray rig around, tear it up or get it stuck, you'd be better off refilling a smaller one. Easier to store also.

I made my own setup with the stuff in the links below, have loved it. Hooked the sprayer power up to a rocker switch and dont even have to get out to turn on/off. have saved a bunch of chemical too. the "Boomless" boom is great, albeit more than i wanted to pay. plumbing it yourself and to fit your machine worth it in my book.

Keep your sprayer working like new with this replacement wetboom assembly. Easy to install and built to last. Order yours at Gemplers!
