Aside from the airline issues, how are the airports themselves? Flying out Saturday for vacation, do we need to allow more than 90 minutes to get through TSA?

The problems with American starts and stops with DUI Doug Parker, the CEO who can't even get a drivers license because of his many DUI arrests. I happen to live with someone who works there for the last 27 years so I get the inside skinny. Seems management has reduced gate crews down to 3 man crews to work a full flight. Imagine 3 people unloading and loading baggage off of a heavy in 30 minutes when it's 130 degrees out on the ramp. Pilot shortage is NOT the problem. The problem is everywhere. AA has changed their story on this delay problem 3 times in the last week. AA has way more chiefs than they have indians.

I fly thru American about once a month for business. Just did 2 back to back trips a week apart to Louisville and then Cincinnati with 0 issues on each. The airports are definitely getting more packing with every flight ive taken. Very rarely is a plane not full with 5 or so standby passengers waiting. its gonna get worse before it gets better.

A couple of weeks ago I flew from Austin to Orlando. We were supposed to leave at 10:55 AM but our flight was delayed because the plane was held up in Dallas due to weather. That is understandable but over time it became less understandable. The text messages and the information board at the gate never matched and kept changing back and forth with us being moved to another gate for a short time according to the text message. They finally brought in a "rescue" crew which brought cheers from the crowd. We still didn't board the plane for another hour. When we did board the plane they told us they were now waiting on maintenance because the hydraulic system had too much hydraulic fluid in it. We waited an hour for someone to bring a wrench and drain off some hydraulic fluid with no air conditioner. We finally taxied out to the start of the runway to sit there about 30 minutes watching other planes take off. On the way out to the runway I swear I could hear the ends of two metal ends rubbing against each other.
The excuse for this delay was they were "waiting for an updated passenger list from the tower". We finally lifted off just before 5:00 PM. It would have taken me 16 hours to drive to Orlando and it took me 14.5 hours to fly counting travel at each end. I have to go to Milwaukee in September and I think I will drive. I will probably fly Bubba Air before AA again.
