Just got back from Port Aransas this evening and was pretty bummed about the water conditions. Straight up brown the entire time we were down Thur-today. I had thought that wind conditions played a big part, but today there was barely a breeze and the water was still the same. Is there really any way to determine if the water will be clear or not? Watched a video from about two weeks ago where a guy was catching jacks while wade fishing by the Jetties and the water looked clear as can be. Also talked with some locals and they told me that Wednesday the water was beautiful, so what causes the change?

The water is always murky there, unless the blue water is in, that only happens maybe two or three times a year. When the blue water does come all the way up inside the jetties, the fishing gets crazy, they start catching all types of stuff, that you normally don't see caught off of the jetties or inside the jetties. Normally you have to go 30 plus miles out to get into the blue water. If you have ever taken a boat out in the gulf and seen the line, where the murky water stops and the blue water starts, it is a very sharp line. One side the water is green, or brown and murky, the other side of the line, it's clear bright blue water.
