I've never needed a front locker but I'm more west tx and mountains in mine every year.

Never needed one on a regular basis but we had a guy at the duck lease behind us as we were exiting a really soupy pond. On the pond perimeter we have a levee and he came at an angle and the front tire that hit first just buried and the other was spinning it’s *** off. A locker would have pulled him right out but that angle and the soft bottom gave him a heck of a time.

      Options before tires I have:

Kaw HD Shocks and Highlifter installed - $775 and if I do this, do I need spac rs if keeping stock wheels?

Above and add A arms as well: $1600 do I need to do the a arms and lift? I don't really plan to go to 30s. 28s are fine.

To add, I'm not an aggressive driver. Turning 40 and more about safe and durable.

No need for spacers, but I’m adding them with the lift to keep the same or slightly wider than factory stance. I don’t want too much body roll and want more stability than lifting with narrow stance.

        Left is 28" w/factory A-Arm
        Right is 28" w/Super ATV A-Arm

Also notice the alignment of the shock. The Super ATV arms put the center of the tire @ the center of the rear differential. Factory arms are angled forward. I have read about people just swapping sides with the factory arms, but I didn't care for that idea. I like alignment of the Super ATV arms better. I am at 1 year with daily use, and no issues!

On the front, I am running factory A-Arms. No clearance issues.

          lift

I just bought a defender max xt, I wanted the same, more clearance. I just went with bigger tires(30") to get a little more clearance. I didn't want to add the lift and other stuff either.

Looked into these as well. I just have concerns I'd be replacing an engine by 7k miles to ith a can am, versus hopefully getting 20-30k miles on a kawi.

The Rotax engine is as reliable as any of the others out there.

Thanks. Seeing the new HD7 just was released, which is more powerful than the 8 was. Can be had for 13 at my dealers, plus ttyl, plus adding 800 for them to install aftermarket eps, I am OTD for 15 even if I go that route. Can do the HD9 it's for 16500. I wouldn't have to worry about adding a lift or swapping shocks, I don't think at least.

Get some 28x14 or 15. The ride will be better then stock. Or you could get some springs and stiffen up the stocks a few clicks.
I had a 2017 that I had heavy duty Kwai springs and a bracket lift. I got tired of that and got elka shocks and front and rear arms to fit 30s. The kawi springs and bracket lift was a far superior ride then the elka shocks.
So you did not like the elka shocks? Were they the Hester ones? They are soooo expensive, and I ma debating them versus the bracket lift and HD Springs.

I’d like to know the answer to this also. Thx

He gave a lot of different variables there, out side of shocks.

I have same set up(30” tires, superATv arms) but didn't do it all exact same time. I can tell you there is a significant difference in wheel travel. I also have the heaviest spring rates for Elka. They have different spring rates.

With that said I've been changing out tires due to already tearing up side walls on two moto claws. My new tires are significantly stiffer, even at 10 Psi.

Through stock w/all factory to HD springs to new shocks to arms to tires, I found a significant difference in pperformance and ride, especially with speed and nasty stuff
