    How long?

I drove by the Texstar Kubota dealer where I bought my tractor yesterday on the way to the lake. They had about 1/4 of the inventory they had 5 years ago when I bought my tractor. I had read where all tractors , new and used were bringing a premium right now and I believe it. The Texstar Ford inventory was less than that. Then I drove by a New Camper dealer outside of Dublin that had 7-8 new low end campers. That is probably 1/4 of what they normally have as well. Everywhere you look inventory is depleted for all sorts of things.

How long do you think it will take to get inventories back to somewhat normal. My best guess is that it will take 2 years at least and that with no other outbreaks of Covid. After working in manufacturing as a production facilitator I can on imagine how much overtime this will cost to meet the demand.

When you tell me when every state will chill the f out on its Covid restrictions, I will tell you when we will get back to normal.

And this only applies to products 100% sourced and produced in America. Got steel for the camper coming from India? Nope, not getting it any time soon.

This is 100% why everyone should know where the stuff they buy comes from. Start supporting US companies, even if it costs more. Support the companies that source their raw materials within the US even more.

Many of those types of businesses may go under before they can recover. I tried to buy a 4 wheeler from my local Polaris dealer a couple weeks ago and they didn’t have a single one

This is good but may be easier said than done. Lots of stuff isn’t even made in the USA anymore. Example, you want a game camera made in the USA ?
You have one choice ! As far as I can tell, the wheels for our Humvees are made in China. The US companies have whored themselves out to China and we are co-conspirators each time we hit that Amazon app. I’m not as bad as I used to be but anything is too much.
